About Us
Mission Statement and Programs
Benld Adopt-A-Pet (BAAP) is a 501C3, no-kill animal shelter located in Benld IL.
Our shelter was established in 1983 by Lorraine and Marvin Little [LINK] on their home property. Marvin built the original building for the shelter and Lorraine found families for the homeless pets they rescued.
Administered by a Board of Directors, the Shelter is operated by a Shelter Director, Shelter Manager, and a small staff of hard working, dedicated employees. [LINK]
Our Mission
Our mission is to operate a no-kill animal shelter for cats and dogs who are homeless or at risk and raise funds to operate that shelter; to rescue animals whenever and wherever possible, and provide food, medical care and a safe, comfortable home for them until good permanent homes can be found for them; to ensure that every animal is spayed/neutered before being adopted; and to educate the public on humane care and other issues concerning animals, and speak out to eradicate cruelty to animals whenever it is in our power to do so.
